Bringing together food, rentals, and event expertise
UCSC Hospitality and Catering is here to help make your campus event a success—no matter the size or occasion. From elegant wedding receptions and retirement celebrations to casual coffee breaks and department meetings, we’re ready to assist with thoughtful coordination and delicious food.
While we may not provide every service directly, our team will work with trusted campus and community partners to ensure your needs are met. Let us help you manage the details so you can focus on your guests.
Event support services
Here are some key considerations as you begin planning:
- Food & beverage service: Full-service catering tailored to your event’s size, style, and budget.
- Event rentals: Need tables, tents, umbrellas, or décor? We’ll coordinate with our trusted partner, Alexis Party Rental, to ensure your event is fully equipped.
- Audio/visual equipment: Whether you need microphones, projectors, or a full A/V setup, we’ll help you connect with campus resources for tech support.
- Parking coordination: Hosting guests from off campus? We’ll help you connect with UCSC Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) to arrange guest parking.
- Zero Waste Event planning: Interested in a Zero Waste Event? Ask us how we can help you meet UC’s Zero Waste goals with compostable serviceware and waste-sorting options.

Audio visual services
To ensure a smooth and professional experience, we partner with UCSC Learning Technology Services for all audio visual equipment, sound systems, and technical support. Their in-depth knowledge of campus facilities means your meetings and events are set up for success.
For your convenience, A/V charges will be applied directly to your event agreement or master account. Please submit equipment requests at least five working days before your event. Late requests are subject to double the standard rate and depend on staff and equipment availability.

Zero Waste events
Zero Waste events are hosted across campus throughout the year to help reduce our collective carbon footprint and promote sustainability.
Here’s how you can help make your next event a Zero Waste Event:
- Request compostable paper products for food and beverage service
- Include compost and recycling containers alongside trash bins
- Prioritize local, organic, and sustainable ingredients in your catering menu
- Host your event outdoors when possible to take advantage of natural light
- Visit the Sustainability Resources webpage to learn more about Zero Waste practices and tools
Together, we can host memorable events that support a healthier planet.
